When your home has foundation problems, the signs can be seen from the top of the chimney to the basement floor. And the longer you wait, the worse the symptoms are likely to get. The only thing that will stop it is foundation repair.
Homes and buildings may appear solid, so it may be difficult to imagine them cracking and shifting unless there is an earthquake. In fact, foundation settlement is a common and major cause of structural problems. Fortunately, there are ways to fix a settling foundation without having to replace it.
Whether your Lincoln home or business is facing a settling foundation or a bowing basement or foundation wall, Jerry's Waterproofing has solutions that can give your home's foundation the stability that it needs.
The symptoms of foundation problems can be seen in many places other than the foundation itself.
Cracks in the walls, floor or ceiling could indicate problems with foundation settlement. So too could leaning walls or chimneys. Are your doors or windows misaligned or have your stairs started pulling away from your stoop?
If any of those problems sound familiar, it might be time to get your foundation inspected by a professional. The foundation of your home is crucial to its stability. If it is damaged, your home is subject to many issues, ranging from water damage to mold exposure to severe structural problems. That is why it is important to discover the cause of your foundation's problems and have it repaired.

When fixing a foundation, it is important that your contractor uses the right tools for your job rather than employing a one-size-fits-all approach. Thankfully, through our partnership with Earth Contact Products we are experienced installers of a variety of top-quality foundation repair products built using American-made steel.
Many foundation issues fall into two general categories. The first is a settling, shifting foundation that needs to be supported from below. The second is bowing or buckling basement walls that must be supported laterally.
At Jerry's Waterproofing, we have multiple solutions for both.
When the soil beneath your home is weakened and wreaking havoc on your foundation, you must find something stable enough to support your house.
Even if that soil is far below the surface, you must find a way to use that load-bearing strata of soil to support your foundation.
With piering, steel piers are sunk beneath the surface of your home until they reach strong, stable soil — or bedrock if need be. They are then attached with brackets to your home's foundation, leveling it and providing the strength needed to prevent future foundation issues.
There are two main types of foundation piers:
Designed to handle heavy structural loads and stabilize foundations
Used to secure and strengthen new or existing foundations
If your basement walls begin to buckle and crack, it is a serious issue for the stability of your home as a whole. And just as with foundation problems beneath your home, they require providing additional support. This time, however, the support is needed laterally rather than vertically.
Plate anchors and helical tiebacks can anchor the wall in the soil outside. Plate anchors press the wall back to its original alignment. Tiebacks act as a type of horizontal piering system, with the tiebacks, parts of which resemble large screws drilling out into the soil, with their helical plates helping to counteract the forces causing the walls to bow in the first place.
Supports and stabilizes bowing and leaning walls back to normal
Used to correct leaning, rotating, or cracking foundation walls
